I heard this line in a series and I thought I should frame something around it coz it resonated so much with me at so many levels !
Have you ever tried to push away a feeling — pretend it wasn’t there — only to find it creeping back when you least expected?
Maybe it’s sadness you cover up with a smile.
Maybe it’s anger you swallow during arguments.
Maybe it’s fear that you keep locked away, pretending you’re “fine.”
The truth is, what we try hardest to hide often fights the hardest to come out. Our emotions don’t like being ignored. They may stay quiet for a while, but they don’t disappear — they find other ways to speak.
Why We Hide
We hide things because we’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or even feeling the pain itself. But bottling it up often leads to more pain — in the form of stress, health issues, anxiety, or sudden outbursts.
What Helps?
Talking to someone you trust — even if you don’t know how to start
Writing it down — journaling can give your feelings a safe space
Letting yourself feel — without rushing to “fix” it
Seeking help — therapy isn’t for the weak; it’s for the brave
We all have parts of ourselves we try to hide. But sometimes, letting them show is the first step toward healing.
You don’t have to shout your feelings from the rooftops. But maybe… just maybe, you can open the door a little. You might be surprised at how much lighter you feel when you stop fighting what’s already inside you.
Go ahead, give it a try!
